GrowFL has announced that 4ocean, PBC, Aventusoft and MPLT Healthcare, all companies within the Research Park at Florida Atlantic University®, are “2020 GrowFL Florida Companies to Watch Honorees.”
The top 50 honorees were selected from hundreds of applicants and nominees in this statewide competition that identifies companies expected to see significant growth over the next several years.
“These standout companies are all led by entrepreneurs, and have demonstrated not only their willingness to grow, but their capacity to do it successfully,” said Tom O’Neal, Ph.D., GrowFL founder. “They are all positioned to make a significant impact on Florida’s economy with their products, services, critical intellectual property or a niche position that gives them a competitive edge in their markets. These business owners demonstrate strong leadership, philanthropic involvement, perseverance and all it means to be an entrepreneur.”

Research Park at FAU is home to technology companies and research-based organizations working to support the research and development activities of Florida Atlantic University and to foster economic development, broadening the economic base of Broward and Palm Beach counties.
A 70-acre destination for R&D companies to thrive, the Research Park at FAU hosts Global Ventures, a hub for established, second-stage companies to scale-up and thrive, FAU Tech Runway, a hub to accelerate technology development and incubate startup companies as well as Florida SBDC at FAU.
Established in 1985, it is widely regarded as South Florida's laboratory for new entrepreneurial ideas and technologies

Xeriant announces new Advisory Board Member
Xeriant, Inc., a new aerospace technology holding company, is pleased to announce today that Ronald Mandel, formerly Chief Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin Space and a Lockheed Martin Fellow, has agreed to join Xeriant as a senior member of its Board of Advisors. Mr. Mandel has more than 40 years of experience in the design, development, and integration of highly complex aerospace systems used in telecommunications, exploratory missions and defense applications, including satellites and space vehicles.
"We are looking forward to having Ronald Mandel on our team," stated Xeriant CEO Keith Duffy. "His visionary leadership, senior management experience, broad technical background, and commitment to excellence will be a tremendous asset to Xeriant and help ensure that we achieve our goal of sourcing and accelerating the most promising disruptive technologies with applications in aerospace.

FAU and Memorial Healthcare System establish Research Parnership
South Florida giants in higher education and healthcare have joined forces to form an alliance that will advance clinical research and clinical trials in the region. Florida Atlantic University and Memorial Healthcare System in Broward County have formed a “Research Partnership to Advance Clinical Trials” (Research PACT), which combines their expertise and resources in clinical research, clinical trials, basic research and translational biomedical research. Its mission: to develop state-of-the-art research tools and discover new knowledge to benefit patients and lead advances in patient care.
“Florida Atlantic University’s Board of Trustees and all of us at the University are very excited to collaborate on this important initiative with Memorial Healthcare System. Together, we will propel the development and delivery of potential breakthrough discoveries in treatments and technologies that will benefit this region’s diverse patient population,” said FAU President John Kelly. “FAU and Memorial Healthcare System share similar goals, as well as values and culture in research excellence and serve the same communities, which make this partnership a perfect match.”

FAU again rates among nation's best programs for entrepreneur studies
Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business improved its standing among top programs for entrepreneurship studies, according to the latest rankings from The Princeton Review .
FAU jumped two spots to No. 37 among undergraduate programs and came in at No. 41 among the first-ever rankings of the top 50 graduate programs. FAU is the only member of Florida's State University System to make both lists.
The Princeton Review’s rankings for 2021, based on data collected from more than 300 schools, identify the top programs for students seeking to become entrepreneurs.
FAU’s academic programs in entrepreneurship and the staff at the Adams Center for Entrepreneurship teach students how to acquire an entrepreneurial mindset and turn their dreams for new business ventures into reality. Students learn to develop and test business models, write business plans, start businesses and seek outside investment to grow them.
